“GIS is my passion and inspiration” it was the slogan of the sixth edition of the International GIS Day 2021 at Kielce University of Technology. The event was also an opportunity to celebrate the 10th anniversary of opening the Geodesy and Cartography course.
GIS Day is a regular event organized at the Faculty of Environmental, Geomatic and Energy Engineering, dedicated to the promotion and popularization of the idea of Geographic Information Systems. It is part of the global movement held around the world. GIS day brings universities, government agencies, schools, non-profits, and GIS professionals together to build knowledge of GIS in their communities, and create understanding about the world we live in.
The Kielce GIS Day included three thematic sessions devoted to GIS technologies: GIS in city management, GIS in real estate management and GIS in environmental engineering and renewable energy sources. During the event IT workshops were held. Participants could get acquainted with the latest geodetic and photogrammetric equipment used to create information systems presented by the partner organisations and companies.
