How to reach Kielce
Kielce is a city which has a 9 centuries tradition. The city is located in the south-east Poland, near the Świętokrzyskie Mountains and has about 200 000 inhabitants. Kielce is the seat of the Świętokrzyski Region and it is called its administrative, cultural and academic center. The Świętokrzyski Region is an attractive place for people who enjoy being close to nature and like learning about the past. The Świętokrzyskie Mountains, Europe’s oldest mountain range, are a beautiful place for walkers and cyclists. Those who are interested in sightseeing will be satisfied with our region’s historic sights in localities of centuries long history.
When you arrive at the airport (Warsaw or Krakow) it is the best and the most comfortable to go by train. The journey from Warsaw is about 3h30min (188 km) and the ticket price is about 50,00 PLN (one way), from Krakow 2h (132 km) and the ticket price is about 30,00 PLN (one way). When you arrive to the Kielce Main Railway Station, you can go to the University by taxi (a taxi stand is near the station) or by bus. The price for the taxi run to the students residence is about 15,00 PLN. The address for the students residence you should give the taxi driver is: „POLITECHNIKA AKADEMIKI”.
If you prefer to go by bus you should go to the Czarnowska Street and there take the bus number 46 or 13. The price for full fare ticket, in Poland called “normal ticket”, is 3,00 PLN. You should get off the bus on the third stop (Warszawska Street) exactly in front of the University. Campus is behind the University and consists of five buildings with the names put on them, so it is easy to find the right one.
