Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme student exchange at the University of Huelva

Students Mrs. Gabriela Herbuś, Mr Dawid Giemza, Mr Rafał Gładysiński, Mr Karol Rokita, Mr Krzysztof Szfugier from the Faculty of Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering at Kielce University of Technology participated in an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme student exchange at the University of Huelva from September 21 to 25, 2026.

The meetings, discussions, laboratory sessions, and other activities were held under the theme: “Sustainable Mining Projects: Integrating Digital and Automated Solutions with Economic, Social and Environmental Considerations”

The University of Huelva hosted students and faculty members from Germany, Estonia, Portugal, and, of course, Poland. It was a highly intensive week; the students not only attended laboratory sessions and lectures but also visited mines and local industrial centers. Through this activity, they gained knowledge and skills regarding sustainable mining—integrating environmental and economic aspects—as well as digitalization and automation in extraction processes and the design of innovative solutions in this field. Students participating in the project earned 3 ECTS credits, which will be recorded in their diploma supplements, but above all, they gained valuable experience in an international environment.

Kielce University of Technology has been collaborating with the University of Huelva under the Erasmus+ program for decades, but this partnership has gained significant momentum thanks to the efforts of Dr. Sławomir Błasiak, prof. PŚk (Scientific Director for the Mechanical Engineering discipline), and Prof. Domingo Javier Carvajal Gómez from the University of Huelva. Their long-standing, intensive cooperation has resulted in students from Huelva participating in the “Model Manufacturing Methods – Advanced Manufacturing Methods, Additive Manufacturing and Reverse Engineering” Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) hosted by Kielce University of Technology this May, as well as our own students taking part in a BIP at the Spanish university.

Kielce University of Technology students interested in such activities can monitor our website for announcements regarding calls for applications for these types of exchanges and check the offerings of our partner universities, a list of which can be found in the “partner universities” tab. While this form of mobility is growing in popularity, we also strongly encourage participation in semester-long Erasmus+ exchanges, which offer a great opportunity to build self-confidence, gain valuable experiences, and forge international friendships.
