Organization of the new academic year 2020/21

Zarządzenie Nr 80/20Rektora Politechniki Świętokrzyskiejz dnia 18 września2020 r. on the organization of education at the Kielce University of Technology in the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021

Regulation No. 80/20 of the Rector of the Kielce University of Technology of 18 September 2020 on the organisation of education at the Kielce University of Technology in the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021 Based on Article 23, Article 51(1), Article 67(4), of the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on higher education and science (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2020, item 85 as amended) shall be managed as follows:

§ 1.1.1.The principles of the organisation of education at the Kielce University of Technology shall be introduced as part of teaching classes at the studies, PhD studies, postgraduate studies and other forms of education and at the PhD School in the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021.2. These principles may be modified in connection with changes in the generally applicable regulations or the current epidemiological situation related to COVID-19.

§ 2. 1. The terms used in this Regulation mean: 1)remote way of teaching/learning – conducting classes in a synchronous mode, with due observance of the principles specified in §§2-4 of the Regulation of RectorNr 35/20 of 24 March 2020, as amended. on the organisation of classes at the Kielce University of Technology with the use of distance learning methods and techniques, with the provison that the lecturers are obliged to organise the classes with the use of a platform for remote communication of their choice from among the following:

a)meet.tu.kielce.pl, b)WebEx,c)moreover, the following platforms may be used to support remote classes: -Testportal,-Moodle.

2 ) the traditional way of conducting/taking classes – conducting classes in the seat of the University with appropriate observance of the principles:

a) specified in the Regulation of the Rector No. 57/20 of the Rector of the Kielce University of Technology of 3 June 2020 on the conditions for the realisation of hours of classes, which cannot be realised with the use of distance learning methods and techniques and the use of the University’s infrastructure. The provision of § 6 of the above mentioned Regulation shall not apply, b) introduced by a separate Regulation on the organisation of the University’s activities during the period when there is a risk of COVID-19.

2.2.Possible applications concerning deviations from the rules referred to in paragraph 1 point 2 (e.g. due to the small area of the room where the classes are to take place)
are reported by the teacher no later than 30 September 2020 to the competent Dean, who makes a decision after consulting a health and safety specialist.


Studies

§ 3.1. Classes in the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021 are held in accordance with the timetable on dates specified in the Rector’s Regulation No. 65/20 of 30 June 2020 on the organisation of the academic year 2020/2021.

2.The timetable should be arranged in such a way as to enable the student to participate in all classes regardless of the way they are conducted, especially by combining classes conducted in the same way in blocks.

§ 4 1.Classes in the form of lectures are held remotely, with the exception of Basic Health and Safety Training for first year students, which is held in a traditional manner.

2 The lecturer, not later than 5 days before the planned date of each lecture, shall send by e-mail appropriate access information necessary to participate in a lecture (e.g. communication platform, conference name, password) to:

1)students; 2)the head of the department; 3)the appropriate dean for students and didactics.

Persons indicated in para. 2, subsections 2, 3)-3)perform random checks of the implementation of remote-controlled activities.

§ 5.1.Lessons in other forms (including exercises, seminars, laboratories, projects, and PE classes) are held in the traditional manner.

2.Consultations are held in the traditional or remote manner (synchronously or asynchronously).

§6 1.Exams, credit and diploma examinations are held in the traditional manner at the University.

2 In connection with section 1, the Rector’s Regulation No. 62/20 of 23 June 2020 on the establishment of rules for the organisation of verification of the achieved learning outcomes specified in the curriculum, outside the seat of the University with the use of information technology, is suspended. Phd studies and education at the PhD School § 7.1.
2.2 Teaching practices take place in the manner referred to in § 4-5.


Post-graduate studies and other forms of education

§ 8.The Headmaster of the Centre for Lifelong Learning  will determine by way of a decision and will inform the participants, Deans of the faculties conducting the studies and the Vice-Rector for Education and Didactics of the University. The Regulation comes into force on the day of signing and is valid until the end of the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021.
