CEEPUS

CEEPUS (Central European Exchange Program for University Studies) is an exchange academic programme in the fields of education and research which involves 15 Central-European countries:
Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo (University of Pristina).
The legal basis for CEEPUS is an international Agreement signed by the member states and open for accession.

By providing funding for academic mobility, the CEEPUS agreement allows for intensification of cooperation between HEIs in different countries which are the Parties to the Agreement. It offers both teachers and students opportunities to spend a study or teaching period abroad at the partner universities.

The programme started in 1995 and now it is in its third phase  (CEEPUS III Agreement) with rising success, demonstrated by the increasing number of involved participants. The main activity of CEEPUS is university networks (created by minimum 3 universities from 3 different countries) operating joint programs. CEEPUS offers mobility grants for students and teachers in this framework. It is a unique opportunity to share knowledge and experiences among countries with a common cultural heritage and a strong background of academic cooperation.

CEEPUS Programme aims at promoting student and teacher mobility in Central and South-East Europe. Students can spend a study period abroad and teachers can undertake a teaching period at a partner university. These opportunities are designed to strengthen professional and personal relationships among Central European scholars.
