Professions of tomorrow

23 fields of education and over 60 specialties at five faculties. Studies are conducted in a full-time and part-time system. Full-time studies at the first cycle in English are also possible. The diversified educational offer reflects the labour market demand and the challenges of the future. Our aim is to create specialists in key areas for modern society, namely renewable resources, electrical vehicles, data base, automation, virtual reality and recently – biomedical engineering. That’s why our courses are matched to present worldwide needs.

Student-oriented university

The student and his needs are priority for all the academic staff. Improvement of the of education quality together with continuous mastering of the academic staff qualification and skills are the major goals of university’s activity. Kielce University of Technology have been awarded the title of the most pro-doctoral university in Poland by the National Representation of Doctoral Students. The University was appreciated for providing the best study conditions for doctoral students and promoting good practices while supporting the young scientists in their development. All the University staff tries to do their best to be of a great assistance to the students. Their satisfaction is our priority.

History and tradition

It is Kielce, the town itself where the oldest technical university in Poland was established.
The Kielce University of Technology, officially operating under the name since 1974, continues the tradition of the Academic and Mining School founded by Staszic in 1816. The University of Staszic responded to the need of quickly developing mining and metallurgical industry in the Old Polish Industrial District.

We focus on cooperation with industry. The opportunity to do internships in partner companies is the key to success for graduates of the Kielce University of Technology. The readiness of the University authorities to adjust education programs to the employers expectations gives students considerable advantage on the labour market. Our University has become a base of highly-qualified employees not only for the regional but for the country-wide job market, as well. The diploma of the Kielce University of Technology is really appreciated among employers, allowing you to get an interesting job – 90% of our graduates obtain employment in the branches corresponding to their fields of acquired education within a year since graduation. Our University Academic Career Centre strongly supports the students and recent graduates in finding jobs by arranging contacts with the prospective employer.
Rankings showing that University graduates find employment easily reflects the close contacts with the business environment. The vast majority of our students are engaged on the job market already during their studying or immediately after graduation.

Web of innovation

The Kielce University of Technology is proud to run and make use more than136 laboratories, very modern and well equipped ones, including five accredited in the field of road materials, vehicle electrical engineering, lighting technology, computer measurements of geometric quantities as well as scanning microscopy and X-ray microanalysis. Students enjoy the opportunity to participate in classes conducted in 3D Printing Laboratory, Laboratory of Virtual Reality , Smart Production Management Systems Laboratory and many others which let them get practical skills in this fields. Kielce University of Technology as the Ambassador of Innovation – the university gained this distinction for creating and implementing innovations as well as for model ties establishing between science and business environment. The jury of the competition highly appreciated the implementation of the latest EU project-CENWIS (setting up the Scientific and Implementation Centre for Smart Specializations of the Świętokrzyskie Region) and extensive scientific and research activities carried out by the employees of the of the Research Centre Laser Processing with full up-to-date facilities, established with the Polish Academy of Science.

Window to the world

Established international position of the University is justified by active cooperation with over 100 foreign universities in Europe and around the whole world. Thanks to the EU funding our students and academics receive scholarships. The students have an opportunity to study a semester or two in foreign universities. The academic staff conduct joint research projects with partners from abroad.
Every year about 100 students from Turkey, Spain, Portugal Italy Slovakia etc., come to study under the exchange programme, such as Erasmus+ or CEEPUS, and some of them stay here as regular students. The group of international students increase year by year. Many students from Algeria Morocco, Nigeria, Ghana, India, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and other countries study successfully at KUT building friendly international environment.

Kielce affordable for students

Kielce – our town has a huge advantage over Warsaw, Cracow or Wroclaw. Namely, the cost of living here is much lower than in the big cities. It is much easier to rent an apartment at a reasonable price. What’s more Kielce gives opportunities to find part-time jobs suitable to students and after work, in your free time you can use all available facilities such as swimming pools, tracking paths, bike trials, pubs, restaurants and so on. Besides, our University provides accommodation at the dorms if you wish to stay close to the Uni and together with other students. Compact campus saves you time and money for commuting. Shopping malls and cheap groceries are situated within few minutes walking distance from the dorms.

Passion above all

Students and doctoral students of the University, pursuing their passions, succeed in national and international competitions:

  • the team of students scientific club called the IMPULS was rewarded the first prize three times: in 2019 at the University Rover Challenge (URC) – an international competition of Mars rovers held on the USA desert, in the state of Utah near the analogue of the MDRS Martian base, in the European Rover Challenge in 2019 and 2021 – the Competitions of Mars rovers held in Kielce;
  • the TU Kielce Greenpower team took the first prizes in the competition of electric cars on the karting track in Bydgoszcz;
  • the first three positions were taken by students and graduates of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering in the nationwide ModelMania competition at the PGE National Stadium, where university representatives tested their skills in using the SOLIDWORKS program;
  • economics students won the nationwide FINSIM (formerly BANRISK) Academic League competition – an online bank management simulation game;
  • students of the computer science are annual winners of the international competition „Seeds for the Future” organised by Huawei company; the winners participate in the technology workshops in Shenzhen, China, Huawei’s headquarters.

Students laureates and award winners of the National Student-Inventor Competition, initiated by the Kielce University of Technology, in the last few years have successfully presented their projects at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, each time winning gold, silver or bronze medals.

Not only studying

The social, cultural and sports base of the University is also being expanded. Recently, a modern, multifunctional athletics stadium was built. We care not only for the minds of our students but for their being fit thanks to well-equipped sports facilities within our campus. There is a modern sports hall including courts dedicated for handball, volleyball and basketball, new athletics stadium – a full-size football pitch with an artificial grass surface surrounded by a circular six-track athletic track with a polyurethane surface 400 m long, an eight-track treadmill on a straight line with a length of 130 m, throwing area for hammer throw, discus and javelin throw and for shot put, three pole vault, high and long jumps and a complex of beach sports fields. There are 12 sports sections operating within the AZS – Academic Sport Association, three of them are listed in the national league.
Students cultural life concentrate around the students club “Pod Krechą” – a great place for meetings, concerts, cabaret shows, film marathons, festivals and previews. What’s more, a successful academic choir and very active tourists club can make the atmosphere of studying unforgettable. Each year during the students festival called Juwenalia, our students become the rulers of Kielce. You can admire a colourful procession of students in different fancy dresses then. The young people enjoy themselves while having fun at many concerts and parties.

Financial support

Students of Kielce University of Technology are entitled to a range of scholarships. International students who are successful in art, sport or have achieved an excellent academic performance can apply for special Rector’s scholarship. Detailed rules are set by the Rector in consultation with student government. The scholarship is granted for a semester and paid every month. The money lets students cover basic charges of living as a dormitory rent or study fees.

Convenient location

Within one campus, one minute walking distance from the teaching, most laboratories buildings of the university and sport centre, there are 6 renovated dormitories, offering 1300 places at the students’ disposal in single and double rooms with bathrooms. Rooms are equipped with refrigerators and electric kettles. In each dormitory you can use the Internet without restrictions. Staying in the University dorms it is living in the centre of the town where everything is at your fingertips. Students don’t need to spend any money to commute to the University or visit pubs on the Main Square. Moreover Kielce city is located in a 150-180 km distance from main Polish cities, Cracow and Warsaw, the most popular students tourist and cultural destinations.

Life balance thanks to nature

Kielce is undoubtedly a city full of greenery. A large area of the city is protected as the Chęcińsko-Kielecki Landscape Park. Świętokrzyskie Geopark, or Kielce Geonatura, together with surrounding municipalities received the UNESCO World Geopark certificate on 22 April 2021. In the Świętokrzyskie Geopark, there are, among others, unique inanimate nature reserves like: Jaskinia Raj – Paradise Cave, Kadzielnia, , Wietrznia or Miedzianka – Nature Reserves. There are many attractions for sightseeing and tracking in all Świętokrzyskie region. Name of the area was taken after the Holly Cross Mountain with twentieth-century Benedictine abbey situated on the top of Łysa. Montain. It is also worth seeing many other attractive places to discover the geological heritage associated with historical and cultural values, including mining traditions – numerous remains of historical mining of ores and rocks. Many cycling routes and tracking paths in Kielce and the surrounding area are undoubtedly an attraction for people who like spending their time in an active way.
