Old Friends, New Leaders: 600 years of Polish – Turkish Diplomatic Relations

The year 2014 will be a year dedicated to celebrating the 600th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and Turkey in both countries. The letter of intent was signed in this case by the Foreign Ministers of the two countries, during the visit of the Turkish Foreign Minister to Poland on 21 March 2013. One of the many events planned in 2014 to commemorate this important anniversary was a meeting of Turkish and Polish universities on 4 April 2014 organized by the Embassy of Turkey in Poland in the guest rooms of the Hotel Hayatt in Warsaw at ul. Belwederska 23 There were 25 booths with educational offer representing 25 Turkish universities. Kielce University of Technology was represented at a meeting of the Turkish- Polish universities by Prof. Krzysztof Grysa, Dr. habil. – the Vice-Rector for Innovative Economy and Cooperation with the Industry and Mr. Ryszard Maj – the Head of the Department of International Relations. A series of interviews with representatives of Turkish universities such as Afyon Kocatepe University Afyonkarahisar, Dokuz Eylul University Izmir, Gazionsmanpasa University in Tokat, Istanbul Kultur University from Istanbul, Istanbul University, Sakarya University in Sakarya and many others. The meetings proseeded in a good atmosphere of partnership and perhaps will be the beginning of the signing of new contracts and establishment of cooperation on many levels.
